Wireless Remote Thermometer Sensor
(630-1027) Batteries Faxback Doc. # 51060

Installing Batteries

You need two AA batteries (not supplied) to power the remote sensor. For
the longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries (available at your local
RadioShack store).

Note: If you expect to use the remote sensor in temperatures below -4
degrees F (-20 degrees C), we recommend you use lithium batteries
(such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-664).

CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
           type.

Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
           of different capacities.

Follow these steps to install batteries.

1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws in the battery
compartment cover, then lift the cover to remove it.

2. Set CHANNEL and C degrees/F degrees inside the compartment to the
desired settings. (See "Changing the Display Channel" and "Changing
the Degree Format" in Faxback Doc. # 51062.)

3. Place two AA batteries in the compartment according to the polarity
symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

4. Use a pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip) to press
RESET and initialize the sensor's transmitter.

5. Replace the cover and reinsert and tighten the screws.

If (crossed battery symbol) appears on the main unit's display when you
select this remote sensor's channel, replace the batteries.

CAUTIONS: Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or
           bury them.

Always remove old or weak batteries. Batteries can leak
chemicals that can destroy electronic parts.
