INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read all the safety and operating instructions before operating your
new Realistic Weatheradio Alert. All instructions and safety
precautions should be followed and the instructions should be retained
for future reference for your safety and convenience.
2. Do not use the unit near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool
etc.
3. Adequate ventilation is necessary. The unit should be situated so
that its location or position does not interfere with its proper
ventilation. For example, the appliance should not be situated on
a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation
openings; or, placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase
or cabinet that may impede the flow of air through the ventilation
openings. Place the unit away from heat sources such as radiators,
heat registers, stoves, or other appliances that produce heat.
4. The power-supply cord should be routed so that it is not likely to be
walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against it, paying
particular attention to the cord at the plug, convenience receptacle,
and the point where the cord exits from the unit.
5. Care should be taken so objects do not fall and liquids are not
spilled into the enclosure through the openings.
6. All servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel. The
following damage requires servicing by qualified service personnel:
A. The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the unit: or
C. The unit has been exposed to rain or water; or
D. The unit does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked
change in performance; or
E. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
7. If you are going on a vacation, or for some reason do not need your
Weatheradio Alert to be on, set VOLUME Control/Power switch OFF and
unplug the power cord from the outlet.
8. The Weatheradio Alert is designed for operation only from 120 volts,
60 Hz, AC power. Do not attempt to use any other AC power source.
9. To clean the cabinet, use only a soft rag, slightly dampened with
water and mild soapsuds. Do not use harsh solvents.
