Talking Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer
(630-1012) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 41792

Installing Batteries

Your thermometer requires two AAA batteries (not supplied). For the best
performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as
Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555.

Follow these steps to install the batteries.

CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.

Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
           of different capacities.

1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and
    remove it.

2. Install the batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
inside the battery compartment. The thermometer beeps four times and
automatically turns on the alarm and the hourly temperature announce-
ment. Both indoor and outdoor temperatures appear on the display.

3. Replace the cover.

NOTES: If the thermometer does not work when you install the batteries,
remove the batteries and reinstall them.

If the voice announcements weaken or the displays dim, replace the
        batteries.

After replacing the batteries, you must reset the current time and
the alarm time. See "Setting the Time" and "Using the Wakeup Alarm"
        on Faxback Doc. # 41794.

CAUTION: Always dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
