Weather Forecaster/Thermometer
(630-1025) Installation Faxback Doc. # 39408
INSTALLING BATTERIES
You need four AAA batteries (not supplied) to power your Forecaster. For
the best performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries,
such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-558.
Caution: Do not mix old and new batteries; different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.
Follow these steps to install batteries.
1. Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it in the direction of
the arrow.
2. Place the batteries into the compartment on top of the attached ribbon
and according to the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the
compartment.
3. Replace the cover.
Notes:
When you first install batteries, all five forecasts briefly appear, then
the current temperature appears.
It takes about 24 hours for the Forecaster to fully adjust to the current
pressure, and forecast properly.
When BATT appears in the top left corner of the display, replace the
batteries.
To easily remove the batteries, pull up on the attached ribbon.
Caution: Always dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
SELECTING A LOCATION
Your Forecaster includes a main unit plus an outdoor temperature sensor.
If you want to use the outdoor sensor, place the Forecaster close to a
window or other opening.
To avoid inaccurate readings, do not place your Forecaster near heating or
air conditioning vents.
Wall-Mounting
You can mount your Forecaster on a wall using a screw (not supplied) that
fits into the keyhole slot on the back of the Forecaster.
Drive the screw into the wall until the head extends about 1/8 inch from
the wall, then position the keyhole slot over the screw head and slide the
Forecaster down to secure it.
Using the Stand
To place your Forecaster on a flat surface, pull the bottom of the built-in
stand away from the back of the Forecaster.
HANGING THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Drive a small nail or screw (not supplied) into the desired location. Then
route the sensor's cord through a window, and hang the metal loop on the
nail or screw.
Note: If the loop will not fit over the nail or screw's head, thread the
nail or screw through the loop before driving it into the wall.
