INSTALLING/REPLACING THE BATTERIES

Your indoor/outdoor thermometer requires one AA battery, such as
RadioShack Cat. No. 23-582.

Follow these steps to install or replace the battery.

1.  Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow.

2.  Insert the battery as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
    marked inside the battery compartment cover.

3.  Replace the battery compartment cover.

WARNINGS:  Promptly dispose of an old battery.

           Never incinerate batteries.

           Never let young children play with batteries.

Note:  Occasionally, the thermometer might not operate when you install
       the battery.  If this occurs, simply remove and install the battery
       again.

MOUNTING THE THERMOMETER AND OUTDOOR SENSOR

Choosing Locations

Choose locations for the thermometer and the outdoor sensor within 10 feet
of each other so you can route the outdoor sensor's cord through a window.

CAUTIONS:  Do not place the thermometer or sensor in direct sunlight.

           Keep the thermometer and sensor away from hot or cold sources
           such as stoves, heating and air conditioning vents, and
           radiators.

Mounting the Outdoor Sensor

Follow these steps to mount the outdoor sensor.

1.  Drive a nail or screw into the location you chose for the sensor.

2.  Hang the outdoor sensor's attached loop on the nail/screw.

3.  Route the outdoor sensor's cord through a window.

Mounting the Thermometer

Follow these steps to mount the thermometer.

1.  Drive a screw into the wall at the location you chose until the head
    extends 1/8-inch from the wall.

2.  Place the keyhole slot on the back of the thermometer over the screw,
    and slide down the thermometer until it locks into place.

USING THE SUPPLIED STAND

You can use the supplied stand on the back of the thermometer for easy
viewing.  Simply lift the stand away from the thermometer and set the
thermometer on a flat surface.
