Installing the Battery

Your thermometer requires one AAA battery for power. For the best perfor-
mance and longest life, we recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio
Shack Cat. No. 23-555.

Follow these steps to install the battery.

1.  To remove the battery compartment cover, press and slide the cover in
    the direction of the arrow.

2.  Install the battery as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
    marked inside the battery compartment.

3.  Replace the cover.

NOTES:  After the battery is installed, the thermometer briefly displays
        ----, followed by a temperature. (The temperature reading depends
        on the thermometer's settings.  See Operation on Faxback Doc. # 
        37273.

        If the thermometer does not work when you install the battery,
        remove the battery and install it again.

        If the display dims or disappears, replace the battery.
