Installing Batteries
You can power your Travel Chess and Checkers with three AAA batteries (not
supplied). For the best performance and longest life, we recommend using
RadioShack alkaline batteries.
CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
type.
Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.
Follow these steps to install batteries.
1. Press in the tab on the battery compartment cover, then lift and
remove the cover.
2. Place the batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity
symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

batteries. If it still does not operate properly, you might need to reset
the computer. See "Resetting the Computer," below.
CAUTION: If you do not plan to use the Travel Chess and Checkers with
batteries for a month or more, remove the batteries. Batteries
can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic parts.
WARNING: Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or
bury them.
Note: Saved game information is lost when you remove the batteries.
