Installing Batteries

The Learn 'n Fun requires three AA batteries (not supplied) for power. For
the best performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries,
such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-552.

CAUTIONS:  Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
           type.

           Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
           (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
           of different capacities.

Follow these steps to install batteries.

1.  Be sure the activity knob is set to OFF.

2.  Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery
    compartment cover, then lift up the cover.

    CAUTION:  The battery compartment cover is hinged.  Do not try to
              remove it.

3.  Install the batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity
    symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

4.  Replace the cover and tighten the screw.

When the sound becomes low or the Learn 'n Fun does not operate properly,
replace the batteries.

CAUTIONS:  If you do not plan to use the Learn 'n Fun for several weeks,
           remove the batteries.  Batteries can leak chemicals that can
           destroy electronic parts.

           Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.  Do not burn or
           bury them.
