RC Choo Choo
(600-2755) Batteries Faxback Doc. # 49211
INSTALLING BATTERIES
You need four AA batteries (not supplied) to power the Choo Choo and make
it sound, and two C batteries (not supplied) to turn on the Choo Choo's
light. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline
batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-552 and 23-551.
You also need one 9-volt battery (not supplied) for the controller. For
the best performance and longest life, we recommend an alkaline battery,
such as Cat. No. 23-553.
CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
type.
Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable) or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.
To install batteries in both compartments of the Choo Choo,
follow these steps.
Note: The AA-battery compartment is on the bottom of the Choo Choo and
the C-battery compartment is at the back of the Choo Choo.
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws from the bottom and
back of the Choo Choo, then lift up the covers to remove them.
2. Place the batteries in the compartments as indicated by the polarity
symbols (+ and -) marked inside.
3. Replace the covers and tighten the screws.
If the Choo Choo moves slowly or not at all, replace the AA batteries. If
the Choo Choo's light dims, replace the C batteries.
To install batteries in the controller, follow these steps.
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw in the battery
compartment cover, then lift up the cover to remove it.
2. Snap a fresh battery into the terminals and place it in the
compartment.
3. Replace the cover and tighten the screw.
If the motor runs but the Choo Choo does not respond to the controller,
replace the 9-volt battery.
CAUTIONS: If you do not plan to use the Choo Choo for several weeks,
remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can
destroy electronic parts.
Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or
bury them.
