Champion 2250 XL Chess Computer
(600-2215) Teaching Mode Faxback Doc. # 46726

Your chess computer has five built-in teaching modes that you can use to
help you learn the basic moves, tactics, strengths, and weaknesses of
selected pieces in a game setting.

In the teaching mode, the computer sets up the display to simulate a real
game where both the black and white kings and all pawns are in their
starting positions. Then, when you select a piece the computer adds the
piece you selected to the setup. This lets you play a game using only the
pieces you set up, making it easy to see only the strengths and weaknesses
of the piece you selected without being distracted by other pieces.

Follow these steps to use a teaching mode while it is your turn to move.

1. Press LEVEL.

2. Press one of the following piece symbol keys to select the pieces you

starting positions, and the piece you selected appears in its starting
position. tEAch and the symbol for the piece you selected also appears
    on the display.

white rooks are shown in their starting positions.

Note: If you press the queen piece symbol key in this step, the
computer sets up the game board with all pieces and does not
allow itself to play any moves from an opening book.
