Radio-Controlled Clownie

Your Radio Shack Radio-Controlled Clownie is your own personal explorer.
Under your control, the Clownie can walk around the hallways in your home
or the sidewalks outside.

You need two AA batteries (not supplied) to power your Clownie, and one
9-volt battery (not supplied) for the transmitter.

Installing Batteries

CAUTIONS:

Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.

Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of
   different capacities.

Never leave dead or weak batteries in the Clownie or the transmitter.

If you do not plan to use the Clownie for several days, remove the
batteries. Batteries can leak chemical that can damage electronic
   parts.

Dispose of batteries promptly and properly; do not bury or burn them.

In the Clownie

You need two AA batteries to power your Clownie. For the best performance
and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack
Cat. No. 23-557).

   1. Slide OFF/ON on the bottom of the Clownie to OFF.

   2. Press and slide the battery compartment's cover (on the bottom of
the Clownie) in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

   3. Put the batteries in the Clownie, on top of the ribbon, as indicated
by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

   4. Replace the cover and snap it shut.

NOTE: To easily remove the batteries, lift the ribbon.

In the Transmitter

The transmitter requires one 9-volt battery. We recommend an alkaline
battery, such as Cat. No. 23-553.

   1. Press down on the battery compartment's cover, and slide it in the
direction of the arrow marked on it to remove it.

   2. Put the battery in the transmitter as indicated by the polarity
symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

   3. Replace the covers and snap it shut.

When the transmitter's range decreases, replace its battery.
