Installing/Replacing Batteries
Your chess computer uses two AA batteries (not included). Fresh alkaline
batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552, can provide up to 500
hours of playing time.
1. Press STOP to turn off the computer.
2. Press down on the battery compartment cover and slide it in the
direction of the arrow.
3. If necessary, remove and discard the old batteries.
4. Insert two AA batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
inside the compartment.
CAUTION: Batteries installed incorrectly might leak and damage the
computer.
5. Replace the cover.
CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.
Never leave dead or weak batteries in the computer.
If the computer will not be used for several days, and you do
not want to save a game, remove the batteries.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Dispose of batteries properly; do not bury or burn them.
If the computer does not function properly, replace the batteries. If it
still does not function properly, you might need to reset the computer.
See "Resetting the Game."
Applying Felt Disks To The Game Pieces
To prevent the pieces from sliding on or damaging the surface of the game
board, apply one of the supplied felt disks to the bottom of each game
piece. Follow these steps to apply the felt disks.
1. Use a damp cloth to thoroughly clean the bottom of each piece.
Let the pieces dry completely.
2. Peel off the backing from each felt disk and apply the disk to the
bottom of each piece.
Resetting The Game
If your computer does not work properly after you replace the batteries,
you might need to reset it. Insert a pointed object such as a
straightened paper clip into the ACL hole on the bottom of the computer
for about 2 seconds.
