PRACTICE - you play the game on your own, but with only one billiard
               ball.

Playing the Game

The object of the game is to shoot all the billiard balls into the pockets
on the table.

1. Press START/SHOOT to begin the game.

If you selected SINGLE, you see: "SINGLE" lit in upper left corner of
    game.

If you selected DOUBLE, you see: "DOUBLE" lit in upper left corner of
    game.

If you selected PRACTICE, you see: "PRACTICE" lit in upper left corner
    of game.

NOTE: If you want to make any changes at any time before pressing START/
SHOOT to take your shot (see Step 8), press SELECT until the selec-
tion you want to change appears, then make the change.

2. To select the angle you want to shoot from, repeatedly press LEFT or
RIGHT to move \/ around the outer edges of the table (to one of 48 angle
points). As \/ moves around the table, the numbers under ANGLE change
to show the location of the point.

3. When \/ is where you want it, press SELECT. ANGLE appears steadily and
HIT POSITION flashes on the display.

4. To choose the area of the cue ball you want hit, repeatedly press LEFT
    or RIGHT.

/\ - the top of the cue ball is hit. The ball rolls forward with a
slight top spin, hits the billiard ball, then rolls forward.

\/ - the bottom of the cue ball is hit. The ball rolls forward with a
slight bottom spin, hits the billiard ball, then rolls backward.

O - the middle of the cue ball is hit and the ball goes straight for-
         ward.

    > - the right side of the cue ball is hit and the ball rolls to the
         right.

< - the left side of the cue ball is hit and the ball rolls to the
         left.

5. Press SELECT. HIT POSITION appears steadily and POWER flashes on the
    display.

6. To decrease or increase the power of your shot, repeatedly press LEFT or
RIGHT. Power bars ||||| appear showing the level of power.

7. Press SELECT when the power level you want appears. ANGLE, total points,
    and the cue ball flash.

8. Press START/SHOOT to make your shot. The cue ball moves according to the
    settings you selected.

NOTES: In SINGLE play, if you shoot the cue ball into a pocket, or if you
shoot the same billiard ball three times in a row, you lose one cue
ball. The cue ball reappears near the bottom of the table and play
continues. (o) appears on the display for each cue ball lost.

In SINGLE play, if you lose three cue balls, the game is over.
        (o)(o)(o) and GAME OVER appear.

In DOUBLE play, after you shoot, your opponent's points flash to
        indicate it is their turn.

In DOUBLE play, the game is over when all billiard balls are off the
table. (o)(o)(o) and GAME OVER appear.

In PRACTICE play, when you shoot the billiard ball into a pocket,
another billiard ball appears and play continues.

Press MODE/ON to return to the demonstration at any time.

If a game is started and you do not press a key for about 1 minute,
the cue ball will automatically roll with full power (if the power
was not already set) and the existing settings.

Scoring

Each billiard ball you shoot into a pocket is worth 32 points.

In SINGLE play, the maximum score is 9,998 points. Only the last two digits
are displayed until the game is over, then the full score appears. If a
player reaches 100 points, 00 appears and play continues but the score con-
tinues to increase from 100. If a player reaches 9,998 points, the score
automatically resets to 00 and play continues.

In DOUBLE play, the maximum score is 18.
