OBJECT OF THE GAME

Your Sonic Car Racing Game has two different raceway games.

Game 1 - You must overtake your opponents without crashing.

Game 2 - Level 1 in Game 2 is the same as Game 1. But, starting in
Level 2, you must break through the barricades without crashing.

Game 1 and Game 2 both have 10 skill levels. Each time you earn 1,000
points, the game moves to the next level.

PLAYING THE GAME

1. Press ON/OFF. The highest score and a demonstration display appear.

NOTES: You can turn the sound on or off at any time. To turn off the
sound, press SOUND so ((o)) disappears from the display. To
turn it on again, press SOUND so ((o)) appears.

If you do not press a button for about 2 minutes, and you have
not pressed START/PAUSE, the game automatically turns off.

2. Press TURBO to select Game 1 or Game 2. G1 (for Game 1) or G2 (for Game
    2) appears in the top center of the display, along with the high score
    for that game.

3. Press START/PAUSE to start the game. The display shows a score of 0 and
four fuel tanks, and your car has four normal-sized tires.

4. Press the following buttons to control your car.

       JUMP Control - ^

       LEFT Control - <

       RIGHT Control - >

       BRAKE Control - []

TURBO ----- Press and hold to accelerate your car. (SYMBOL) appears in
the upper left display when you reach full turbo speed. Re-
lease TURBO to gradually return to normal speed.

^ --------- jumps your car over another car or a barricade.

NOTE: You cannot jump over another car or barricade before you have all
four big tires (see Step 5). If you try to jump over another car
or barricade before you have four big tires, you lose one big
          tire.

[] -------- gradually slows down your car when using TURBO. Release []
to speed up your car again.

< and > --- moves your car to the left or right one lane at a time.

NOTE: Sometimes your car automatically moves to the left or right, so
           pay close attention!

PAUSE ----- temporarily stops the race. PAUSE scrolls across the top
right of the display. Press START/PAUSE again to continue
                the race.

5. When a big tire appears on the left side of the track, move to the far
left lane and Press < to pick it up. The tire must be in the lowest
position on the display for you to pick it up. Once you have picked up
a tire, if you move to the far right lane before the PIT station dis-
appears, the repairman puts the tire on your car.

6. When a fuel tank appears on the right side of the track, move to the
far right lane and Press > to pick it up. The fuel tank must be in the
lowest position on the display for you to pick it up. Once you have
picked up the fuel tank, if you move to the far left lane before the
PIT station disappears, you gain another fuel tank.

NOTES: After a fixed distance, one fuel tank at a time disappears from
the top left of the display.

If your car crashes, one fuel tank and one big tire (If you have
            a big tire) disappear.

7. The game is over when you use all of your fuel tanks. GAME OVER appears.

    To play again, press START/PAUSE.

8. Press ON/OFF to turn off the game.
