until MUSIC BAR reappears.

PLAYING THE GAME

Your LCD Sonic Speedway Game moves through nine different skill levels as
you play, each more difficult than the last. Each level has three rounds
of play.

1. To turn on and start the game, press ON/START. The following
information appears on the display, in this order:

0-0 LEVEL, then 0000 SCORE - indicates the highest level, round, and
score reached since batteries were installed or RESET was last pressed
(see "Resetting the High Score/Level ", below).

1-1 LEVEL, then 0000 SCORE - indicates the current level, round, and
    score.

Your car appears and a timer counts down from 5 seconds. When the
timer reaches 0, the race begins and the timer begins to count down
    from 90 seconds.

2. To control your car during the race, press the following buttons as
    needed.

SPEED UP - to speed up your car.

BRAKE - to slow down or stop your car.

LEFT - to move your car to the left.

RIGHT - to move your car to the right.

Note: Each time you press SPEED UP or BRAKE, a bar appears or
disappears on the left side of the display to indicate your
car's speed. Five bars indicate turbo speed (the fastest), and
no bars mean that your car is stopped.

The game responds differently in each round of play as you try to pass
    the other cars.

Round 1 - the opposing car stays in the same lane.

Round 2 - the opposing car changes lanes at random.

Round 3 - your car moves to the far left or right when you press
LEFT or RIGHT. The opposing car stays in the same lane.

If your car crashes with another car, a dust cloud appears by the road,
CAR appears on the upper left side of the display, then the race
continues from the place where you crashed. Each time you crash,
    another CAR appears.

3. If you crash your car four times during the game or if you do not reach
the finish arch within 90 seconds, the game ends and GAME OVER appears
on the display. To play another game, press ON/START. A new game
starts automatically at Round 1, Level 1.

Note: If you are on any level except 1 and want to restart at that
level, press and hold SPEED UP, then press ON/START.

If you reach the finish arch within 90 seconds, you win the race and
your score appears on the display (see "Scoring"), then the level/round
indicator appears and the next round automatically begins.

Notes: Each time you complete round 3, you move to the next skill level.

To stop play at any time, simply stop playing the game and do not
press any of its buttons. The game then turns off automatically
within about 3-4 minutes to save battery power. To turn it on
        again, press ON/START.

SCORING

If you reach the finish arch in less than 90 seconds, your score is the
number of seconds remaining multiplied by 10, plus 160 bonus points. For
example, if you finish with 10 seconds remaining, your score is 100 points
(10 seconds x 10=100) plus 160 bonus points, for a total of 260 points.

Note: The maximum score is 9990 points.

Resetting the High Score/Level

Even after it turns off, the game automatically keeps track of the highest
score or skill level ever reached in a game. To reset the game's high
score/level memory, press RESET. A new game starts automatically.
