Using The Radio
To hear everything happening on a channel, including weak transmissions,
hold down MONI (monitor). The RX indicator lights. Release MONI to turn
auto-squelch back on.
To talk, hold down PTT (push to talk). Speak into the microphone when the
TX indicator lights. When you finish speaking, release PTT.
If the LO BATT indicator lights, replace the batteries.
NOTE: The LO BATT indicator might continuously appear if the temperature
drops below about 14 degrees F (- 10 degrees C). You can still use
the radio if this happens.
The LO BATT indicator disappears as the radio warms up (unless the
battery power is low).
VOLUME/OFF Knob - Rotate to turn the radio on and off and adjust the volume.
TX Light - Lights when you transmit a message or press CALL.
RX Light - Lights when you receive a transmission.
You can cause a paging tone to sound on all radios tuned to FRS Channel 1.
To send a page, hold down CALL button.
IMPORTANT: The FCC does not allow you to send a continuous tone for more
than 10 seconds at a time on FRS frequencies. Do not hold down
CALL button for more than 10 seconds.
Attaching The Belt Clip
Slide the belt clip onto the tab on the back of the radio. Then slide the
belt clip over your belt.
To remove the belt clip, pull the belt clip down and slide it off.
Attaching The Hand Strap
Slide the hand strap's small loop under the bar next to VOLUME/OFF. Then
pull the large loop through the small loop.
