If you suspect that your transceiver is not working as it should, refer to 
the following chart to see if you can eliminate the problem.

If the problem persists, take the transceiver to your local Radio Shack 
store.  DO NOT attempt repairs or adjustments yourself.

Symptom                                     Remedy

Insufficient charged condition              Replace or recharge battery 
                                            pack.

Difficulty Transmitting                     Be sure to fully press PUSH TO 
                                            TALK.

Difficulty Receiving                        Adjust SQUELCH.

WARNING

Do not open your transceiver to make any internal adjustments except
changing or installing new crystals.  Any other internal adjustments can
lead to illegal operation as defined by FCC Rules and Regulations, Part 90.
Such illegal operation can lead to fines or confiscation of equipment.

You can add or replace crystals in your transceiver as explained in 
"Preparation," Faxback Doc. # 39583.  We cannot be responsible for the 
proper operation of your transceiver if you use other manufacturer's 
crystals.  We urge you to use only crystals obtained through your local 
Radio Shack store.
