Dialing Local Area Codes With Ring Central Fax Faxback # 50769
There are areas of the country where there are multiple local area codes.
For example, Dallas, Texas has two, soon to become three local area codes.
Callers must use 10-digit dialing (e.g., 214-xxx-yyyy or 972-xxx-yyyy)
If the user is in such an area, they may experience difficulty dialing
local area codes with Compaq RingCentral; when dialing the number, th
software will dial 1+areacode+number.
To disable the 1+ dialing, follow the following procedures:
1. Go into RingCentral
- Start
- Programs
- Productivity
- RingCentral Fax
- RingCentral Fax
2. Configure RingCentral
- Menu
- Configure
- Options
- Modem
3. Configure the Dialing Options
- Dialing Options
- Area Code Rules
You will be given a window as follows:
[ ] Always dial the area code (10-digit dialing).
Dial 1 for the numbers with the
following prefixes:
._____________________.

When calling to other area codes:
Do not dial 1 for numbers with the
following area codes:
._____________________.

OK Cancel
- Select New.
- Enter the three-digit area code you wish to not dial with a 1
prefix. Click OK. The area code shows up in the bottom dialog
box. Continue doing this with each local area code.
- When you have finished, click OK, OK, OK and you will return to
the first RingCentral Fax window. The program is ready to receive
phone calls.
