INSERTING THE BATTERY:

To insert the battery into the battery compartment, follow the directions
below:

1.  Push down on the battery compartment door to open it.

2.  Insert the battery into the battery compartment, label side up.

3.  Close the battery compartment door by gently pushing up on the door
    until it slides into place.

CONDITIONING THE BATTERY:

IMPORTANT: The first time you use your computer you must condition the
  battery.

1.  Turn on or restart the computer.

2.  Press the <F10> key when you see the cursor in the upper-right corner
    of the screen.

3.  Select POWER MANAGEMENT from the menu.

4.  Under POWER SAVINGS select DISABLE and press <F10>.

5.  Plug in the AC Adapter and allow the battery to charge until the
    charging icon on the display disappears.  Your battery gauge may read
    100% for a period of time before the arrow disappears.

6.  After the arrow disappears, unplug the AC Adapter.

7.  Allow the battery to drain until your computer reaches Hibernation and
    turns off.  Do not plug in the AC adapter during this process or you
    will need to restart with step 1.

8.  Plug in your AC adapter.

9.  Return to the <F10> setup screen and restore your POWER SAVINGS
    settings to the desired levels.
