to reboot the computer. It should now automatically boot directly into
    DeskMate.

NOTE: Even thought the Tandy 1000 RSX is not a "ROM BASED" computer, the
DeskMate version that came with this machine is specifically designed only
for the 1000 SX computer, and does a check while loading to insure that it
is being used on that machine. If it is used on a different computer, it
will probably ask for the file "DMVSINTD.RES" or "DMVSINTD.RRS", which are
non-existant files.

Occasionally, the BIOS of the 1000 RSX computer will lose the checkbit that
the DeskMate software checks to insure that it is being run on this
computer. If that happens, you will be asked for one of these files, and
DeskMate will not load. To remedy the problem, the CMOS must be cleared.
This can be done by removing the CMOS battery while the computer is off,
then powering on the computer. Once the computer is on, go into the CMOS
Setup program, exit, and shut the computer back off. Then reinstall the
battery. If the user is unsure how this is done, or of thier ability to do
so, it is recommended that they allow a service center perform the
procedure.

NOTE: If, for some reason, the DeskMate software locks up while loading,
reboot the computer with the MS-DOS diskette in the A: drive. At the A>
prompt, type:

DEL C:\DESKMATE\*.CFG

and press <ENTER>. This command will delete any corrupted configuration
files. When you restart DeskMate, it may ask for the location of
DESKTOP.CFG, but if you then press <ESC>, it will create a new one.
