When you first turn on your computer you will see a red Compaq sign located
on the center top of your desktop.  This Compaq Customized Internet sign
allows you convenient access to Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 enhanced by
Compaq.  The Compaq Internet sign can be disabled or enabled.

COMPAQ CUSTOMIZED INTERNET FEATURES

The Compaq Customized Internet sign pulls down into a menu and allows you
several features from which to choose:  Customize my desktop, Technology
Showcase, Service and Support, and Learn about my Presario.  To pull down
this menu, place your cursor on top of the Compaq Internet sign.  The menu
will automatically extend.

DISABLING AND ENABLING THE COMPAQ CUSTOMIZED INTERNET SIGN

If you would like to disable and enable the Compaq Customized Internet
sign, follow the steps below:

DISABLING THE COMPAQ WALLPAPER AND INTERNET SIGN

From the Windows desktop, click on Start -- Settings -- Control Panel, then
double-click on Display.  Click on the Background tab, and select a
wallpaper setting other than Compaq.

The Compaq Customized Internet Sign will no longer appear on your desktop.

ENABLING THE COMPAQ WALLPAPER AND INTERNET SIGN

From the Windows desktop, click on Start -- Settings -- Control Panel, then
double-click on Display.  Click on the Background tab, and select Compaq as
your wallpaper setting.

Once you have selected Compaq as your wallpaper setting, you will be able
to access the Compaq Customized Internet sign and menu.
