Compaq Presario 1220 Notebook

The Compaq Presario 1220 Notebook Computer comes standard with 32 MB of
RAM. 16 MB is soldered to the main logic board, 16 MB is provided in the
RAM upgrade socket located on the bottom of the computer.
The memory specifications of the memory modules are listed below:
144 pin, SO DIMM (Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module) 3.3 V Synch DRAM
(Synchronous Dynamic Random Acess Memory)

To upgrade the RAM memory of the computer, follow the directions below:
CAUTION - When installing memory expansion modules, apply gentle, even
pressure when seating the module. Excessive or uneven pressure can damage
the module.
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Disconnect all power sources and peripherals from the computer.
3. Remove the battery from the battery compatment.
4. Turn the computer over and locate the memory compartment door. It is
labeled "MEMORY EXPANSION".
5. Use a jewelers Phillips screwdriver and remove the screw from the
memory compartment door.
6. Remove the memory compartment door.
7. Remove the 16 MB DIMM from the memory socket, by pulling up and out.
8. Slide and lock the new memory expansion module into place. Insure that
the memory module is properly seated and snaps into place. If there is
not a good connection, you may receive error messages.
9. Replace and screw the memory compartment door into position.
10. Slide the battery into the battery compartment.
11. Reconnect all power sources and peripherals to the computer.
12. Turn on the computer.
Once the memory module is installed, the computer should recognise it and
reconfigure the system automatically.
"Removed" memory may be eligible for customer memory buy-back offer. Have
customer see information in new RSU memory package for details.
