The indicator lights, controls, and status panel of the Presario 1220 are
located directly between the keyboard and the display screen.  They are
arranged from left to right in the order listed below:

  Power Button
  Power Light
  AC Adapter Light
  Volume Down Button
  Volume Up Button
  Status Panel
  Audio CD Play/Pause Button
  Audio CD Stop Button
  Audio CD Previous Track Button
  Audio CD Next Track Button

The Status Panel listed above can display the following icons:

LOCK CONTAINING THE NUMBER 1
  Illuminates when the number lock is on.  To toggle the Num Lock mode,
  press <SHIFT> + <NUM LK>.

LOCK CONTAINING THE LETTER A
  Illuminates when the caps lock is on.  To activate, press the <CAPS LOCK>
  key.

LOCK WITH DOWN ARROW
  Illuminates when the scroll lock is on.  Text that takes up more than a
  full screen scrolls up the screen line by line.  To activate press the
  <SCR LK> key.

BATTERY WITH ARROW
  Illuminates when the battery is charging.  If the light is not on, the
  battery is not charging.  The the AC adapter is plugged in, and the light
  is not on, the battery is fully charged.

FLASHING BATTERY
  Flashes when the battery has approximately 10% battery life left.  When
  this light appears, begin using AC power and charge the battery.
