If a customer complains of audio cds not automatically playing upon
inserting the disc into the drive then use the following steps:
1. Right-click on My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Select the Device Manager tab.
4. Double-click the CD-ROM catagory.
5. Double-click the CD-ROM.
6. Select the Settings tab.
7. Select Auto insertion notification by placing a check in its box.

8. Double-click My Computer.
9. Click View.
10. Select Options.
11. Select the File Types tab.
12. Click on Audio CD under Registered File Types.
13. Click Edit.
14. If Play is bolded the click OK or CLOSE. If Play is not bolded then
click it, then click Set Default.
If these steps still do not cause the CD to play upon insertion into the
drive then have them go to the IBM website (www.ibm.com) and download:
CDVSDUPD.EXE (71317 bytes)
Executing this file will create a diskette which contains an updated driver
for CD AutoPlay under Windows95. This driver corrects compatability
problems with AutoPlay and APM/RapidResume.
This update is applicable ONLY to Aptiva S-Series and Aptiva Cxx models
without Flex Memory (UMA). If unsure of your model, please check your
Hardware Handbook before using this file.
Additional Information: To download the file, follow these steps:
1. Perform a search for the file. Click on file icon.
2. Pick OK to copy file to your local disk.
3. Save as file name, "CDVSDUPD.EXE" and select to save to the Desktop.
Choose OK. This will download the file to your hard disk.
4. Click Start > Run. Type "CDVSDUPD" and press <ENTER>. This command
will explode the file from the hard drive to a floppy disk. Follow the
prompts and insert a floppy disk into drive A.
Installation instructions can be found in the README.TXT file on the
diskette once it is created. You may view the README.TXT file by using a
text editor such as NotePad.
