We have found that if you remove MicroSoft Fax from the IBM Aptiva E-40
through Control Panel, then reinstall it, it will then be able to send
faxes properly.  Follow the directions below to remove and reinstall
MicroSoft Fax:

1.  Click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL to go to the CONTROL
    PANEL.

2.  Double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon in CONTROL PANEL.

3.  CLick on the WINDOWS SETUP tab, then scroll through the list until you
    see MICROSOFT FAX.  Double click on this box to clear the check.

4.  Click on APPLY.  The files for MicroSoft Fax should be removed.

5.  Shut down and restart Windows to insure all changes have been made.

6.  Once Windows has restarted, click START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL
    PANEL to go to the CONTROL PANEL.

7.  Double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon in CONTROL PANEL.

8.  CLick on the WINDOWS SETUP tab, then scroll through the list until you
    see MICROSOFT FAX.  Double click on this box to place a check in this
    box.

9.  Click on APPLY.  The files for MicroSoft Fax should be reinstalled.

NOTE: If you reinstall the entire system from the Recovery Disk, you still
      should perform this procedure.  We were unable to make MicroSoft FAX
      work properly using the default install.
