Go to http://www4.pc.ibm.com/aptips/sprtdsks.html on the Internet and then
click on MFIX.EXE which will take you to the information below and an icon
to click on to download the file.  Download it to the Windows 95 desktop to
make sure that it is easy to find.

MFIX.EXE (55213 bytes)

Executing this file will creates a bootable floppy diskette.  Booting the
computer off of this diskette will update the software on your Aptiva
system.  This upgrade fixes some lockup and sound problems found while
playing the game Descent.

Running MFIX.EXE will also create a README.TXT file on the bootable
diskette which can be viewed for additional technical information on this
upgrade patch.

Additional Information: Only certain models of Mxx systems will require
this patch.  To determine if your system needs this update, enter this
command at a DOS C:\ prompt:

Type, SYSLEVEL.IBM

1.) If you see BRTUS1C 
    BRWWXUS 
    then you should apply this update.

2.) If you see BRTUS1C 
    BRWWYUS 
    then you do NOT need this update.


To download the file, read the following:

1. Click on file icon,

2. Pick OK to copy file to your local disk,

3. Save as file name, "MFIX.EXE" and select drive "C".  Choose OK.  This
   will download the file to your hard disk.

4. At a DOS or OS/2 prompt type "MFIX".  This command will explode the file
   from the hard drive to a floppy disk.  Follow the prompts and insert a
   floppy disk into drive A.

Installation instructions can be found in the README.TXT file on the
diskette once it is created.  You may view the README.TXT file by using a
text editor, i.e. type "e a:\readme.txt" at a C:\ prompt.
