On-Line Help
The on-line help under Menu Commands, Routine Menu, New Standard Routine
(or search on Standard Routine) needs to be corrected. The description
for "Adjust By" dimming should read as follows:

"Adjust By" dimming simply deducts the appropriate dim amount from the
current brightness level to arrive at the dim level you specify for this
module. For example if your lamp is currently set to 80% brightness and
your routine dims the brightness level to 50%, the lamp would be at a
brightness level of 50% (80%-30%=50%) after your routine was executed.

Standard Routine "Set To" dimming is correct as well as the dimming
  descriptions under Fast Routines.

Home Control Wake Up
If Home Control Wake Up, under Tools, is set to Disable and the Home
Director software is re-installed (or a new version is installed), Home
Control Wake Up will remain disabled even though the software shows it
Enabled. The software default is Enabled after an installation. The
actual state of this "switch" is kept in the Serial Interface module. If
the switch was previously set to Disable a reinstall of the software will
not clear the Disable condition in the Serial Interface module.
Therefore the actual switch and the software will be out of synch with
  Wake Ups being Disabled.

To get the switch and the software "in synch", simply change Home Control
Wake Up to Disable in the software. A Disable command will be sent to
the Serial Interface module, which will not change the "switch" state.
If the customer wants it to be Enabled, click it back to Enable and Home
Director will send an Enable command to the Serial Interface which will
  then allow wake ups.

Radio Shack Installation
The Home Director CD will install Radio Shack specific bitmaps and etc.
if it is being installed on an Aptiva model that is sold through Radio
Shack stores. The Home Director software installation program is hard
coded with the following Aptiva model numbers:

    2176-C66
    2176-C7H

Additional model numbers can be added by including the model numbers into
a file which is part of the Aptiva "preload". Reserved model numbers in
this file for future Aptiva releases are:

    2159-S5H
    2159-S6H
    2159-S7H
    2159-S8H
    2159-S9H

If the Home Director software is installed on any other Aptiva model
number, the Radio Shack bitmaps will be replaced by IBM bitmaps.

Home Director Un-Install
The Home Director un-install program will NOT delete user created Home
Director files. Only original Home Director files will be removed.

Home Director Events
The Home Director is a Windows (3.1 or 95) application and therefore NO
Home Director events will happen unless Windows is running.

If the user has exited Windows, to run a DOS game for example, Home
Director can not get control to initiate the event. This applies to all
  scheduled and remotely initiated events.

Software Not Tracking Actual Module States
Module On/Off states may not be represented correctly in the Home
Director software after rebooting the system. To avoid this, exit Home
Director software first before shutting down Windows.

Restarting Your Aptiva Between Delayed Events
Routine events that are delayed may be lost or executed at a later time
if the system is turned off then back on or re-booted during the delay
between the events of a routine. This is because Windows is not running
during the off or re-boot time. An example of this is as follows:

Routine "Test" is defined as A1 ON immediately,
                                 A2 ON delayed 5 min.,
                                 A3 ON delayed 10 min.,
                                 A4 ON delayed 15 min.

If routine Test is executed and the system is powered off/on or re-booted
between the time A1 turns on and A2 turns on, the A2 event may not occur.
In addition, the A3 and A4 events could be turned on later than
  anticipated.

A warning message is displayed when the user exits Windows, but does not
  specifically refer to "delayed" events.

Changing Module Address To An Existing Address
If an existing module's address (Housecode/Unit Code) is manually changed
to an address of another module, any Routine that uses either of the
modules will be changed to reflect the new address. All modules with the
same address, will be modified to reflect a common module (Address, Type,
Name, etc.) when used in a routine. Each routine that uses either of the
modules MUST be reviewed for proper content after the address change.

Adding a new module with the same address as an existing module is OK and
allowed. Neither module, with the same address, can be removed (deleted)
if any module with the common address is used in a Routine.

Serial Interface Does Not Respond To Commands
After severe weather and/or power outages, the Serial Interface module
may not respond to system initiated commands. This condition is very
dependent on house wiring and "dips/spikes" occurring on the power line.
A message (#73) will be displayed if the Serial Interface Module fails to
  respond.

To correct this condition simply unplug the Serial Interface from the
wall outlet for approximately 10 seconds. After replugging the module
into the wall outlet, select Test Communications under the Tools menu and
verify that the Serial Interface is responding correctly.

Module Distortion With Hi Resolution Graphics
When running high resolution graphic modes along with a high number of
colors setting, on screen module representations can become distorted.
This has been observed on older and current levels of ATI graphics chip
sets/drivers. The functionality of the modules are not effected in any
way. Selecting the module (causes the module to be redrawn) will
  normally correct the distortion.

Address Change While A Routine Is Running
If the user changes a module address or the default Housecode while a
Routine is in progress (time delayed events), the changes will not be in
effect until AFTER the routine has completed.

Timer Setting With No Modules Defined (Fixed - Version 2.1)
If the user selects Timer Settings under Modules and clicks on OK when
there are no modules defined in the Home Director program, a warning
message (#69) will be displayed stating that a valid Housecode/Unit Code
  is missing

If the user then clicks on the Routine Assistant tool bar button, the
Home Director program will terminate because of an illegal operation.
This only occurs when no modules have been defined, such as immediately
after selecting NEW under the File pull down menu.

Renaming Room Tabs (Fixed - Version 2.1)
When renaming room tabs, the name must be 17 characters or less.

  * If the name is 18 characters long, Home Director may lock up. To
correct the lockup, CTRL-ALT-DEL which will bring up the Close Program
menu. Select Home Director and click on END TASK.

  * If the name is 19 characters long, everything is OK except the tab name
will be truncated at 17 characters.

  * If the name is 20 characters or more, Home Director may abort with a
    GPF error.

Timer Settings (Fixed - Version 2.1)
If Today or Tomorrow are selected by mistake and then Weekend, Weekday,
or Every Day are selected, the date of today/tomorrow is included in the
module timer setting. To clear this condition, delete the current timer
setting for the module and re-enter the correct setting.

Renaming Trash Can Tab (Fixed - Version 2.1)
The Trash Can tab can NOT be renamed. If it is edited in Preferences,
one of the other tabs will be renamed instead of the Trash Can tab.

Routine Assistant Address Change (Fixed - Version 2.1)
When a routine address is changed, while in the Routine Assistant, all
attributes previously set for this routine, such as timer settings, will
be lost. Routine module may change position on the Home Director screen.
The routine module may also be located in a different room tab after the
  change.

Delete A Timer Setting, Then Schedule (Fixed - Version 2.1)
If a module timer setting is deleted (delete button) and a new schedule
is defined before exiting the timer setting menu, the new timer setting
is not saved. Two ways to delete and enter a new timer setting are:
  1) Delete and click OK. Select timer settings again and enter the new
     schedule.
  2) Delete current setting, choose next, enter new setting and then click
     on OK.
