If the card you are installing has a conflict with the I/O address or the
joystick port on the Mwave card, you may need to change the I/O address or
disable the joystick port.  Follow the instructions that came with the card
to change its I/O address or disable the joystick port.  If the card did
not come with instructions, follow these steps to make changes to the Mwave
card.

Changing the I/O address

To change adapter I/O address, you must:

    Change the software settings in the Mwave configuration utility.

    Change the jumper settings on the adapter card.  For instructions on
    changing the adapter card jumper settings, see page 19.

Changing I/O addresses in the Mwave Configuration utility

The I/O adapter card address in the Mwave Configuration utility must match
the jumper settings on the Mwave card.  To change the I/O adapter card
address, following these steps:

1.  From the Windows 95 desktop, click on the Start button at the lower
    left corner of the screen.

2.  Click on Programs, and click on Mwave.

3.  Click on Hardware Configuration.  The Hardware Configuration utility
    window appears.

4.  Click on the down arrow in the "I/O Addr" box of the "Mwave System"
    item.

    NOTE:  If you accidentally click on the wrong box, press Esc.  The box
           will close and you can try your selection again.

5.  Double-click on the address that you want your adapter card to use.

6.  Click on Update.  An "Information" window appears.  When you have read
    the contents, click on OK.  A "Confirm" window appears.  When you have
    read the contents, click on Yes.

7.  An "Information" window appears.  When you have read the contents,
    click on OK.

8.  Click on Exit to exit the Mwave Configuration utility.  You must
    re-boot your computer for these changes to take effect.

9.  Close all open programs.  From the Windows 95 desktop, click on the
    Start button.  Click on Shut Down, and then click on Yes to shut down
    the computer.

Changing jumper settings on the Mwave card

Once you have changed the I/O address, you will need to change the jumper
settings on the Mwave card.  To change the jumper settings, you may need
to remove the Mwave adapter card.

To remove the Mwave adapter card:

1.  Disconnect the cables attached to the adapter card.  (Be sure to notice
    where the cables connect to the card.  You will need to reattach the
    cables when you reinstall the adapter card.)

2.  Remove the adapter card screw.  Carefully remove the card from the
    adapter card slot.

3.  Proceed to either changing the jumper settings or Disabling the
    joystick port.

To change the jumper settings on the Mwave card:

You must change the jumpers on the adapter card to match the software
settings.  The jumpers you should change are labeled P4 and P5 on the
adapter card.  To change the jumpers.

1.  Locate the jumpers.

2.  Use the following table and picture to determine how to set the
    jumpers.

    If you choose         Set P4 to:            Set P5 to:

3.  Align and insert the Mwave adapter card into the adapter card
    connector from which you removed it.  Insert the screw.

4.  Reattach the cables to the Mwave adapter card.
