You can change information that appears on the screen enclosed in brackets
[ ]. Some items that you can change include the power mode, display
options, and startup sequence. The changes are indicated by the
-> symbol.
Items that cannot be changed either have no brackets or appear in lighter
type (grayed type). Some items that you cannot change include the battery
status and installed memory. The grayed type may change as you make
changes to the screen, depending on what changes you make and their effect
on other functions.
To learn more about any Configuration Utility option, highlight that
option and press the F1 key. You can also get general information about
the Configuration Utility by pressing the F1 key while in Help.

Information on the screen also tells you how to use the screen
effectively.
What the Configuration Utility Shows You
If you want to know about the specific capabilities of the computer, you
can find this information in the Configuration Utility. For example, you
can see:
The current battery pack status
Amount of memory installed
Size of the hard disk
The current display and power management settings
If you get an error message while the computer is doing its self-test, you
can also use the Configuration Utility to determine what caused the error.
Hardware changes are indicated by the -> symbol.
Configuration Utility Screens
There are three screens in the Configuration Utility:
Power Management Features
Setup Options
System Configuration
Each of these screens contains information that controls the operation of
the computer.
If there is no activity in the Configuration Utility for one minute, the
computer returns to the previous screen.
