Connecting Power

Using Batteries

You can power the system from four C batteries. For best performance, we
recommend RadioShack alkaline batteries.

Follow these steps to install batteries in each speaker.

1. Lift the tab on the battery compartment cover in the direction of the
    arrow and remove the cover.

2. Install two C batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
    inside the compartment.

3. Replace the cover.

4. Repeat Steps 1-3 for the other speaker.

Note: If the sound becomes weak or the red indicator dims, replace the
       batteries.

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the system, remove the batteries if you do
not plan to use the speakers for a month or more, or if you plan
to use AC or DC power.

Using AC Power

You can power the speakers from a standard AC outlet with an AC adapter
(not supplied), available at your local RadioShack store.

CAUTIONS: You must use an AC adapter that supplies 9 volts DC and
delivers at least 500 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to
positive and its plug must correctly fit the system's EC 9V 500
mA jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could seriously damage the system or the adapter.

Be sure you connect the adapter as instructed, and disconnect
the adapter from the AC outlet before you disconnect it from the
system. Otherwise, the unconnected plug might touch some metal
          and damage the adapter.

Follow these steps to power the system from an AC outlet.

1. Insert the adapter's barrel plug into the system's DC 9V jack.

2. Plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.

Using Vehicle Battery Power

You can power the speakers from your vehicle's battery with a DC adapter
(not supplied), available at your local RadioShack store.

CAUTIONS: Your vehicle must have a 12-volt DC, negative ground electrical
           system.

You must use a DC adapter that supplies 9 volts and delivers at
least 500 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to positive,
and its plug must correctly fit the system's DC 9V jack. Using
an adapter that does not meet these specifications could
seriously damage the system or the adapter.

Be sure you connect the adapter as instructed, and disconnect
the adapter from the cigarette lighter before you disconnect it
from the system. Otherwise, the unconnected plug might touch
some metal in the vehicle and damage the adapter and/or the
           vehicle's electrical system.

Follow these steps to power the system from your vehicle's battery:

1. If necessary, set the adapter's voltage switch to 9V.

2. Insert the adapter's barrel plug into the system's DC 9V jack.

3. Plug the adapter's large plug into the vehicle's cigarette lighter
    socket.
