The Optimus 1000 is a high-quality three way speaker system, consisting of
a 15-inch high-compliance woofer, a 5-inch midrange speaker, a 3-inch
extended ranch high-compliance tweeter, and a tuned port for extended bass
response.  The speaker electronics are manufactured and assembled under
strict specifications, to assure quality and consistency.

The speaker cabinet is made of fine, furniture grade particle board and
oiled walnut veneer.

The Optimus 1000 is a three way, bass reflex speaker system which achieves
excellent low-end response along with good efficiency.  Bass reflex designs
yield greater efficiency and lower harmonic distortion when compared to
acoustic-suspension systems.  A 3 inch wide dispersion tweeter provides
higher sound pressure levels per watt, allowing you to use lower powered
receivers or to drive a high-powered amplifier more conservatively.  This
means that you are less likely to encounter clipping from your amplifier
which translates into less distortion and cleaner sound.
