CONNECTING THE SPEAKER WIRE

Your local RadioShack store sells a wide selection of speaker wire. We
recommend you use wire that is color-coded or marked on one side. If a
speaker wire needs to be less than 50 feet long to connect your receiver/
amplifier to the speaker, use 18-gauge or larger wire (not supplied). If
a speaker wire must be more than 50 feet long for this connection, use
16-gauge wire (not supplied).

1. Route the speaker wire from your receiver/amplifier to the speaker.

Note: Avoid routing the speaker wire near other electrical wires, and
do not nail or staple the speaker wire.

2. Separate the conductors at each end of the speaker wires for a length
of about 4 inches, and with a wire stripper, remove about 1/4-inch of
insulation from the end of each conductor. Twist the ends of each
    conductor to secure loose strands.

3. Connect the wire to the terminals on the back of the speaker by
pressing the red terminal's tab, inserting one end of the marked
conductor, then releasing the tab. Repeat this procedure to connect
the other conductor to the black terminal.

4. Connect the wire to the speaker terminals on your receiver/amplifier.

Using the wire's color-coding or marking as a guide, connect the
conductor that is connected to the speaker's positive (+) terminal to
your receiver/amplifier's (+) terminal. Then connect the negative (-)
conductor to your receiver/amplifier's negative (-) terminal.
