Mpa-90 P.A. Amplifier
(320-2024A) Operation Faxback Doc. # 37936
USING YOUR MPA-90
1. To protect your speakers, always set the MASTER VOLUME control and the
SOURCE MIXING controls to zero before turning on the power.
2. Push in the POWER button.
3. Before adjusting the SOURCE MIXING controls, set the MASTER VOLUME
control to about 12.
4. Adjust the individual SOURCE MIXING controls (MIC 1, MIC 2, MIC 3, MIC 4/
PHONO, and AUX) to get the proper volume and balance. A little
experimentation and practice will soon give you the required "feel" for
smooth mixing and fading.
5. After adjusting the SOURCE MIXING controls, if you have any feedback noise
turn the FEEDBACK FILTER control until the noise disappears.
After getting the desired sound, if you feel that the overall listening level
is too high or too low, adjust the MASTER VOLUME setting accordingly. When
you achieve the proper volume level, set the MEMORY ring to mark the position
for later reference.
The MPA-90 warns you that you have set the MASTER VOLUME control too high. A
CLIPPING indicator lights when the amplifier is overdriven and clipping
distortion occurs. Thermal overload can also take place. If thermal overload
circuit occurs, the RESET indicator lights and the unit turns off. Reduce
the control setting so that the CLIPPING indicator might flicker
occasionally on high peaks only.
If you want to monitor the mixed signal, insert either a mono or stereo
headphone set into the monitor jack. You can check the signal before sending
it to your speakers.
