SCR-34 AM/FM Stereo Portable Cassette Recorder
(140-0752) Operation (Partial) Faxback Doc. # 37623

Recording from the Radio

1. With a tape installed, set the function selector switch to RADIO.

2. Set the AM/FM switch to the desired band.

If you select FM, choose the appropriate position of the MONO/STEREO
      switch.

To reduce any interference when you record from an AM station, move
the BEAT CUT switch on the back to the other position that produces
      the clearer sound.

3. Tune to the desired station.

4. Press PAUSE. Then, press the RECORD button.

5. When you press the PAUSE button again, recording begins. This allows
you to synchronize the start of your recording with a song or announce-
    ment.

The VOLUME control and TONE switch have no effect on a recording. They
only operate during playback. The correct recording level is set auto-
matically by the ALC (Automatic Level Control) circuit.

6. To playback the recording, refer to "Playing a Cassette."

NOTE: The tape stops automatically when the cassette reaches the end of a
side. The RECORD/PLAY buttons pop up and disengage.

If you press STOP/EJECT to halt play or record, you must press STOP/
EJECT again to open the cassette compartment door.
