2. Insert cassette with desired side facing you, tape surface down. Avoid
    touching tape.

3. Close cassette holder/tape deck cover.

and pitch will raise. When centered (normal speed), you will feel a
    detent click.

6. To stop tape on either Deck, press STOP/EJECT Button on that Deck once.
(A second pressing will eject the tape.) Or, when tape reaches its end,
that deck will automatically stop and its PLAY button will be released.

2. Load cassettes into both decks.

3. Depress PLAY Button of Deck 2, which will begin to play.

4. Depress the PLAY Button of Deck 1. When Deck 2 stops, either by the
pressing of the STOP/EJECT Button or because tape reaches its end, Deck
    1 will begin to play.

AUTOMATIC PROGRAM SEARCH SYSTEM (APSS) - ON PLAY DECK ONLY

APSS will operate in either direction of tape play. The system senses the
blank spaces between the current song being played and the start of the
desired song and, using either fast forward or rewind, quickly locates the
new number and begins its play. This feature can also be used to skip
selections by use of the pause button at the end of the current song, then
by following search instructions.

FORWARD SEARCH

1. Follow directions for PLAYBACK.

2. Count spaces FORWARD between current song and desired song.

3. Press APSS Button until number of spaces appears in LED window.

4. Press Fast Forward (FF) Button on Tape Deck in use. Unit will begin to
Fast Forward to desired song. LED numbers will decrease, indicating
that it is counting spaces between songs. When desired song is reached,
Fast Forward Button will be released and Tape Deck will start to play.

REWIND SEARCH

1. Follow directions for PLAYBACK.

2. Count number of spaces BACK between current song and desired song.

3. Press APSS Button until number of spaces appears in LED window.

4. Press Rewind (REW) Button on Tape Deck in use. Unit will begin to
rewind to desired song. LED numbers will decrease, indicating that it
is counting spaces between songs. When desired song is reached, Rewind
Button will be released and Tape Deck will start to play.

REPLAY OF CURRENT SONG

1. Press PAUSE.

2. Set LED Digit to Number 1.

3. Press Rewind Button.

4. Press Play Button.

5. Release PAUSE. Unit will rewind and replay current song.

NOTE: Tapes with low audio levels, high background noise, stray
signals between songs or with silent passages in recorded songs
exceeding four seconds will yield false indications on the APSS
           system.

AUXILIARY INPUT

1. Plug auxiliary unit (Tape Deck, CD Player, VCR, etc.) into AUX IN Left
and Right inputs on back of unit. When Auxiliary Input is used, no
output of either tape deck will be heard. Instead, the output of the
auxiliary unit will be heard through the loudspeaker, and can be mixed
with microphone input(s) for Sing Along and Recording of Sing Along.

2. Adjust Music Volume, Microphone and Echo Controls and Volume Control on
the Auxiliary device for best sing along balance.

3. Tape Deck 1 may be used for Recording of Sing Along with the auxiliary
unit, but Tape Deck 2 should not be operated while doing so.

MICROPHONES/ECHO

1. When either or both microphones are plugged into the Microphone Jacks,
their output is mixed with the playback from cassette tapes.

2. Adjust MIC 1 or MIC 2 Volume for best balance between playback and
    microphone levels.

3. Adjust Echo to add depth and richness to vocals.

SING ALONG

2. Follow instructions for MICROPHONES/ECHO, above.

3. Adjust Music Volume, Microphone and Echo Controls. Your voice will be
combined with the playback output and will be heard through the
    loudspeaker.

4. With Singing Machine or similar multiplex cassettes, you can sing duets
along with the recorded artist and background music. Or by turning the
Balance Control, you can eliminate the vocal track and do a solo
    performance with the background music.

RECORDING SING ALONG

1. Load a blank cassette in Tape Deck 1.

2. Load a Singing Machine or similar multiplex tape or any other
prerecorded tape into Tape Deck 2.

    ECHO and TAPE SPEED CONTROLS.

The combined output of your voice and the playback of Tape Deck 2 will
be recorded on the blank tape in Tape Deck 1.

ADDING EXTRA VOICE/DUBBING OR COPYING

1. Follow directions for Recording Sing Along, above, loading your
recorded sing along tape into Tape Deck 2.

2. Load another blank tape into Tape Deck 1.

3. Follow Steps 4 and 5 for Recording Sing Along. Your voice will again
be added, allowing you to sing duets with your own voice. If you use
the microphone input for an instrument, you can record that at a
separate time than your voice performance. If you simply want to make a dub or copy, load the tape you wish to
copy in Tape Deck 2 and a blank tape in Tape Deck 1. Do not
     plug in the microphones.

EXTERNAL SPEAKER JACK

  1. Plug the speaker into back of unit. This speaker will play the
right stereo output of the system and the internal speaker will
     play the left.

  2. Adjust volume between speakers using Mixer Balance Control.
