EDIT RECORDING

The CD changer can automatically select the tracks on a CD that will fit
on each side of a cassette tape (time edit), or you can program the tracks
you want to record (program edit).

TIME EDIT

1. Select the disc number of the CD you want to record.

2. Press EDIT on the CD changer. EDIT flashes on the display. Then,
after a few seconds, PUSH EDIT and the following information
    alternately flash.

DISC and the current disc number

TRACK and the total number of tracks

Total play time for the entire CD (in minutes and seconds)

3. Use one of these methods to enter the total length of your cassette
    tape.

Repeatedly press EDIT until the displayed time is closest to the
length of your cassette tape. Each time you press EDIT, the
        display changes:

          C--46

          C--54

          C--60

          C--74

          C--90

          C-- -- --

If your cassette tape does not exactly match one of the
displayed tape lengths, repeatedly press |<</<< or >>/>>| to
select the correct tape length. For example, if your cassette

appears, then repeatedly press >>/>>| until C--50 appears.

Press EDIT, then enter the length (in minutes) of the cassette
tape using the DISC SELECT number keys on the CD changer or the
number keys on the remote control. For example, if your
cassette tape is 65 minutes long, press 6, then press 5 on the
          remote control.

tracks that will fit on the tape (first for Side A, then for Side B).
Then the CD changer plays the tracks while the cassette recorder
records the playback. When the CD changer plays the last track that
will fit on the first side of the cassette, it pauses playback.

NOTES: The CD changer pauses 8 seconds after you press PLAY/PAUSE to
let the cassette recorder move past the tape leader.

The CD changer automatically inserts a 5-second blank space
at the end of each track.

During time edit recording, only the DISPLAY, STOP, POWER,
            POWER/STANDBY and LOAD/EJECT keys work.

6. When the CD changer pauses playback, turn the cassette tape over (if
necessary) and set it to record again.

7. To record tracks onto the other side of the cassette tape, press
    PLAY/PAUSE.

The CD changer plays the remaining tracks while the cassette recorder
    records the playback.

The CD changer automatically stops after playing back the last
selection that will fit on the tape and displays the current disc
number, category name (if any), and the total length of the music
    recorded onto the tape.

8. Press STOP at any time to cancel time edit recording.
