AMX 20 Wireless Speakers (400-1364) Installation Faxback Doc. # 15847

INSTALLING THE TRANSMITTER

You need to properly install the transmitter to fully enjoy the benefits of
your AMX 20 speakers. After you install the transmitter, adjust the
transmitter's antenna disk so it is horizontal.

Connecting to Your Audio Source

You can connect the transmitter either to phono jacks or the headphone jack
on your audio source.

CAUTION: Do not connect the transmitter to the audio source's speaker
output. Doing so damages the transmitter.

Follow these steps to connect to phone jacks.

1. Connect one end of the supplied patch cord to the transmitter's left
    and right audio jacks.

2. Connect the other end of the patch cord to the audio source's left and
right audio out jacks. Use the cord's color coding to ensure you
properly connect left to left and right to right.

Follow these steps to connect to a headphone jack.

1. Connect the supplied Y-cable's red connector to the transmitter's right
audio jack and the black connector to the left audio jack.

2. Plug the other end of the Y-cable into the stereo's headphone jack.

NOTE: If the Y-adapter is too small for the headphone jack, use the
           supplied 1/8- to 1/4-inch adapter.

Connecting to Power

Plug the supplied AC adapter's barrel plug into the transmitter's DC 18V
jack. Then plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.

NOTES: The transmitter's AC adapter is in a box marked FOR TRANSMITTER.

You must use a UL-Listed, Class 2 AC adapter that provides 18 volts
and at least 150 milliamps, and its plug's center tip must be
positive. The supplied adapter meets these specifications. Using
an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the
        adapter or the transmitter.

INSTALLING THE SPEAKERS

Select locations for the speakers that are near AC outlets. Then follow
these steps for each speaker.

NOTES: The speakers' AC adapters are in boxes marked FOR SPEAKER.

You must use a UL-Listed, Class 2 AC adapter that provides 15 volts
and at least 800 milliamps, and its plug's center tip must be
positive. The supplied adapter meets these specifications. Using
an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the
        adapter or the speaker.

1. Turn off the speaker's POWER switch and rotate VOLUME fully
    counterclockwise.

2. Plug the supplied AC adapter's barrel plug into the speaker's DC 15V
    800 mA jack.

3. Plug the AC adapter into a standard AC outlet.
