Fabric Pack 3 Pack (26-1413)

Continuous-loop ribbon are used with the printer. The procedure for
installing the ribbon is as follows:

NOTE: Installation may vary with some types of ribbon packs. See
Instructions included with ribbon pack.

1. Remove printer top cover to gain access to ribbon tray.

2. Refer to Figure 4. Retract the print head by rotating the head release
   lever to its fully counterclockwise position.

3. Move the spring-loaded driven roller away from the drive roller and lift
   the old ribbon out of the rollers.

4. Unthread the old ribbon and discard it.

5. Remove the Ribbon-Pack from the plastic bag.

6. Place Ribbon-Pack in printer tray as shown is Figure 4.

7. Pull ribbon out from both ends of Pack and thread as shown in Figure 4,
   being careful to position Mobius loop twist on the left side.

8. Hold ribbon in place by pressing down on the plastic strip through hole
   in shell piece and then remove wrapper by pulling the end as shown in
   Figure 5.

9. Remove and discard shell and plastic strip.

10. Manually advance drive roller clockwise until slack is removed from
    ribbon.

11. Engage head and install top cover.

RIBBON SPECIFICATIONS

The printer uses a 180 degree Mobius loop configuration that allows print-
ing on upper and lower portions of the ribbon on alternate passes, thereby 
increasing ribbon life. The specifications are as follows:

   LENGTH: 15 yards (13.7 meters)

    WIDTH: 9/16" + - 1/64" (14.3mm + - 0.5mm)

THICKNESS: 0.0004" + - 0.00025" (0.1mm + - 0.00064mm)

Ribbons may be obtained from Radio Shack in packages of three. The part
number for three ribbons is 26-1413. The ribbon is black.
