1. Plug Printer into AC power outlet.

2. Set power switch ON (on the rear).

3. Set control switch to OFF-LINE.

4. Press Self-Test switch. Printer should print all characters in a contin-
   uous sequence. Printing will continue as long as you press the Self-Test 
   switch.

5. If test characters are printed too close to left margin (or extending 
   out from left or right margin), adjust paper to correct position by 
   loosening screws on both sprocket units.

6. If printing is too light, release Penetration LOCK (move forward) and
   adjust Penetration Control lever toward the left. If printing is too 
   dark or is smudged, move Penetration Control Lever to the right. After 
   making this adjustment, re-tighten Penetration LOCK.
