Print to a file

To print a file that has been processed by the driver and stored in a file
(printed to file):

1 Make sure you are in Microsoft Windows, not native DOS.

2 In Microsoft Windows 3.1, double-click the MS-DOS icon located
in the Main group of the Program Manager. In Windows 95, click
Start, then Programs, and choose MS-DOS Prompt.

3 Start your application from the MS-DOS prompt.

4 Create a print file using the "Print to File" function of your
application. For help on printing to a file, see your application
        user's documentation.

5 Use this DOS command to copy the print file to the port where the
        printer is connected:

           copy filename lptn /b

        In the command example:

"copy" is the DOS copy command.
"filename" is the name of the print file you created.
"lptn" is the port where your printer is connected. For example,
            lpt1 or lpt2.
"/b" instructs the computer to send the data in binary form.

Note: Avoid using the DOS Print command to send a job to the printer
port. The Print command causes printing delays and may corrupt the
       print job.

and resending the job until print speed is satisfactory.

Note: Performing these procedures may affect print quality.

Procedure 1

Make sure the Dry Time Delay setting on the Document/Quality tab is
disabled.

Procedure 2

Use this procedure to change the print quality to Fast Draft, Normal, or
High.

1 Click the application's File menu.

2 Choose the option that allows you to change printer settings (for
example, Print, Print Setup, or Printer Setup).

3 In the dialog box, click the Properties, Options, or Setup button
        (depending on the application).

  4 Click the Document/Quality tab.

of page two, and so on. To collate the copies, click Collate. To change
the order in which the copies print, click Reverse Page Order.

Print in reverse page order (last page first)

By default, your printer starts printing with the first page of your

page order.

2 Choose the option that allows you to change printer settings (for
example, Print, Print Setup, or Printer Setup).
