Compaq IJ200
(260-2376) Control Program Faxback Doc. # 49369

Access the Control Program from the system tray icon

The Microsoft Windows 95 desktop provides a taskbar that contains an area
called the "system tray" where drivers and utilities that are always
active can display an icon to provide easy access to their functionality
or status.

1 From the printer's Control Program, click the Options tab.

2 Choose the Place Control Program in System Tray option.

  3 Choose OK.

Once you have completed these steps, an icon for your printer will appear
in the system tray area. To open the Control Program, double-click the
Compaq IJ200 printer icon. For help with the system tray program,
single-click the Compaq IJ200 printer icon and choose Help from the menu.

Cancel print jobs

1 From the printer's Control Program, click the Status tab.

2 Click the Cancel Print button.

Check the version number of the printer driver

1 From the printer's Control Program, click the About tab.

2 Locate the version number on the dialog box.

Enable sound effects

Enabling sound effects allows your computer to audibly tell you when a
print job is complete, when an error has occurred, or when the printer is
out of paper. To enable sound effects:

1 From the printer's Control Program, click the Options tab.

2 Choose Enable Sound Effects. If the option is grayed out, see the
readme file included with your printer software.

Note: You need to have a sound card installed on your computer in order to
      hear the sound effects.

Run the Control Program minimized as an icon

By default, the Control Program displays each time you send a job to
print. To keep this from happening:

1 From the printer's Control Program, click the Options tab.

  2 Choose Run Minimized.

When you send a job to print, the Control Program opens as an icon instead
of a window. To view the Control Program, click the icon.
