This diskette contains software that allows the user to set up their Compaq
Presario MV Series Color Monitor to operate optimally with their personal
computer. Most new models of Presario PCs include this software
pre-installed at the factory.
To determine whether you may need to install this software, please follow
steps 1-4 below:
1. Close all open applications, and, from the Windows DeskTop, click on
START, highlight SETTINGS, and click on CONTROL PANEL.
2. Double click on the DISPLAY icon, then click on the SETTINGS tab.
3. Click on ADVANCED DISPLAY PROPERTIES, click the MONITOR tab, and look
for your model number: MV400, MV500, or MV700.
4. If you find your model number in the ADVANCED DISPLAY PROPERTIES
window, click on CANCEL. Your monitor is already configured to operate
optimally with your personal computer.
If you did not see your model number in the ADVANCED DISPLAY PROPERTIES
window, please follow steps 5-14 below:
5. Insert the monitor installation diskette in the diskette drive.
6. From the ADVANCED DISPLAY PROPERTIES screen, with the MONITOR tab
selected, click on CHANGE.
7. From the SELECT DEVICE screen, click on HAVE DISK.
8. From the INSTALL FROM DISK screen, insure that the drive letter is A:\.
If not, type: A:\ in the dialog box.
9. Click on OK and the software is saved on your hard drive from the
diskette.
10. From the second SELECT DEVICE screen, select the correct modem number
(MV400, MV500, or MV700) and click on OK.
11. Click on APPLY to save your settings.
12. Click on OK to accept the new settings.
13. Click on OK again to return to the Windows DeskTop.
Your monitor is now optimally configured to your personal computer. Remove
the monitor installation diskette and keep it in a safe place, in case you
need to install it again.
