Clean the print cartridge carrier contacts only if you have run the print
cartridge nozzle test and wiped the print nozzles and print quality is not
yet satisfactory.

To clean the print cartridge carrier contacts:

1.  From the Printer Control Program, click the Cartridges Tab.

2.  From the Cartridges Tab, click the Install Color Cartridge button to
    move the print cartridge carrier to the load position.

3.  Unplug the printer power cord.  DO NOT TURN THE PRINTER POWER OFF
    before you unplug the printer.  This forces the print cartridge carrier
    to remain in the load position.

4.  Remove the print cartridges.

5.  Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the cartridge carrier contacts inside
    the printer.  (The carrier contacts are located below the Dark plum and
    Light raspberry tabs in the illustration below.)

6.  Replace the print cartridges.

7.  Plug the printer power cord into an electrical outlet.

8.  Turn the printer power on.

9.  You do not want to reset the ink level counter.  Click Old Color
    Cartridge Installed to return the cartridge carrier to the far right
    position.

10. Test the print cartridge by choosing the Clean Print Nozzles button on
    the Cartridges Tab.

If the print quality has not improved after this cleaning process, replace
your print cartridge.  If print quality still does not improve, your
printer may require service.
