The LP 1000 operates in three emulation modes:
- Tandy DMP 2110 (dot matrix)
- Hewlett-Packard Laserjet+
- IBM Wheelprinter (daisy wheel)

The Tandy DMP 2110 emulation mode has two "sub-modes":
- the standard Tandy DMP 2110 mode
- the IBM Proprinter mode

The IBM mode of the DMP 2110 emulates the functions of the IBM Proprinter.
To avoid confusion, this sub-mode is referred to as "IBM Proprinter
emulation mode" or "IBM mode" in this manual. The separate mode that the
LP 1000 acts like the IBM Wheelprinter is referred to as "IBM Wheel-
printer mode."
