At the item level, the LCD displays both the item and the selectable
option.

item is LANGUGE, and the selected option is USA.

An asterisk (*) is displayed in the last position of the LCD if the
selected option is already stored in the non-volatile memory of the
printer.

In the setup mode, press FUNCTION to move from function to function. When
the function you want is displayed, press ITEM.

ITEM MODE

To enter the item mode, press ITEM when the display shows the function you

QUALITY: or LANGUGE:, followed by the name of an option that is currently

There are several different items you might select in the STYLE function.

SAVE FUNCTION

When the display shows FUNCTN:SAVE and either the ITEM or RESET/SELECT
button is pressed, the display briefly shows SAVING NOW!! and the
currently selected options are saved in non-volatile memory. If you do not
perform this operation, your selections are lost when power is turned
off. Saved selections are indicated by an asterisk (*) in the last
position of the display.

LIST FUNCTION

When the display shows FUNCTN:LIST and with the ITEM or RESET/SELECT button
is pressed, the display briefly shows all selected options.

This function is provided for checking the parameters currently stored in
the RAM by the STYLE function. It does not display the contents of
nonvolatile memory. Therefore, to check whether the parameters are
correctly stored in non-volatile memory, execute this function after
turning power off and on.

If, during the LIST process, either the ITEM or RESET/SELECT button is
pressed, the listing stops and the display shows the last item and option
