Black Ribbon (26-2825)

If the ribbon cartridge is already installed, simply check to see that it 
is properly threaded between the ribbon mask and the print head.

If the ribbon cartridge is not installed, or if it must be replaced due to 
excessive wear, faint printing, etc., follow this procedure:

1.  Set the POWER switch to OFF.  (NOTE: When you turn the power OFF, any
    information stored in the Printer's buffer will automatically be lost.)

2.  Open the top cover.

Gently move the print head toward the center of the printer.

Gently grasp the ribbon cartridge at the corners and remove the cassette by
lifting it upward.

Unwrap the new cartridge.

Remove the red clip on the new cartridge.

Place the two small lugs on both ends of the cartridge into the slots in
the plate supports on both sides of the Printer, then gently press the
cassette down until fully seated.

DO NOT FORCE THE CARTRIDGE INTO PLACE!  If the cartridge is not properly
fitted, the cartridge knob will not match up with the ribbon drive mechan-
ism. Do not force the cartridge down, but fit it in gradually while turning 
the cartridge knob in a clockwise direction until a "click" is heard when 
the knob locates on the printer lock pin.

8.  Pull out the small amount of ribbon from the cassette and thread it
    between the print head and the ribbon mask.

9.  Route the ribbon around the first two guide rollers, then inside the
    second rollers.

10. Take up the slack in the ribbon by rotating the knob on the right side 
    of the cassette.

11. Move the carriage back and forth manually to check that the ribbon
    advances properly.

12. Close the top cover and press it until it clicks.
