VGM-480
(250-4096) Power Management Faxback Doc. # 18483
As an Energy Star partner, Radio Shack has determined that your VGM-480
meets the energy Star guidelines for energy efficiency. It uses VESA-
standard Display Power Management Signalling (DPMS) for achieving the
energy savings.
DPMS conserves electricity by reducing power consumption when you are not
using the monitor. DPMA-compatible computers automatically set the monitor
to standby or suspend when the computer is inactive for a programmable
amount of time. It also reduces power usage to only 5 watts (1/12 the
power used by a standard light bulb) when you turn off your computer. See
your computer's Owner's Manual for information about enabling and setting
the DPMS modes.
The following table summarizes the power-saving modes:
Maximum
Power Mode Display Power Notes
Consumption
ON Active 100 Watts Normal Use
Standby OFF 25 Watts Fastest display
recovery time.
Suspend OFF 15 Watts Slower recovery
time. More power
savings.
OFF OFF 5 Watts Longest display
recovery time.
Most power savings.
Works with any
computer.
