VGM-510 (250-4097) Power Management Faxback Doc. # 15819
Your VGM-510 meets the Display Power Management Signalling (DPMS) Video
Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and the Energy Star power-saving
levels recommended by the United States (EPA).
DPMS conserves electricity by reducing power consumption when you are not
using the monitor. DPMS-compatible computers automatically set the monitor
to standby or suspend when the computer is inactive for a programmable
amount of time. It also reduces power usage to only 5 watts (1/12 the
power used by a standard ligt bulb) when you turn off your computer (see
your computer's owner's manual for information about enabling and setting
the DPMS modes). The following table summarizes the power-saving modes:
POWER MODE | DISPLAY | MAXIMUM POWER | NOTE
| | CONSUMPTION |
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ON | Active | 100 Watts | Normal Use
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stand-by | Off | 25 Watts |Fastest display recovery
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suspend | Off | 15 Watts |Slower display recovery
| | |More power savings.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
OFF | Off | 5 Watts |Longest display recovery
| | |time. Most power savings
| | |Works with any computer.
