 PRO-96 (200-0526) Tutorial: How To Assign A Text Tag To A Channel

This tutorial will show you how your scanner can be customized by means of text tags (maximum of 12 characters) that can be stored in the scanner's channels for easy identification of transmissions. The text is entered using the text chart below.

Step 1: Select the Channel
 
 
While in manual, MAN, or program, PGM mode, use direct channel entry or the FUNC and arrow keys, to enter the bank and channel number to which you want to add the text tag.
 
Step 2: Enter the Program Mode
 
 
Press PGM. M will change to P.
 
Step 3: Enter the Text Tag Mode
 
 
Press TEXT. A flashing cursor will display on the third line down.
 
Step 4: Enter Text - The Letter "H"
 
 
The letter "H" is in group 4 and is the second letter in that group. Press the number 4 key and then the number 2 key.
 
Step 5: Enter Text - The Letter "e"
 
 
The letter "E" is in group 3 and is the second letter in that group. Press the number 3 key, the FUNC key for lower case, and the number 2 key.
 
Step 6: Enter Text - The Letter "l"
 
 
The letter "l" is in group 5 and is the third letter in that group. Press the number 5 key, the FUNC key for lower case, and the number 3 key.
 
Step 7: Enter Text - The Letter "p"
 
 
The letter "p" is in group 7 and is the first letter in that group. Press the number 7 key, the FUNC key for lower case, and the number 1 key.
 
Step 8: Enter Text - Insert a Space
 
 
To add a space between characters, in this case the "p" and the "#", press the ./delay key.
 
Step 9: Enter Text - The Character "#"
 
 
The character "#" is in group 0 and is the third character in that group. Press the 0 key and then the number 3 key.
 
Step 10: Enter Text - The Number "1" and Store the Text Tag
 
 
The number "1" is in group 1 and is the first number in that group. Press the number 1 key twice and press ENTER to store the text tag.
