3 Device discharge rate refers to the rate at which the device draws current from the battery.
High discharge rate:
  • Is loosely defined as having current consumption of 600 mA or higher.
  • Includes (but is not limited to): digital cameras, RC cars, portable power tools, Heavy-use flashlights, CB walkie-talkies, FRS radios, portable televisions, handheld video games, portable audio systems (boomboxes), CD players, MP3 players, appliances, shavers, and electronic toothbrushes.
Low to moderate discharge rate:
  • Is loosely defined as having current consumption of less than 600 mA.
  • Includes (but is not limited to): radio scanners, remote controls (including the remote controls for RC cars), portable radios, and any device using the battery for backup (such as answering machines and clock/radios).
